The statistics tell me that most of you who read my scribblings are keeping track via Facebook, which automatically generates a post every time I publish. But if you would prefer to follow the blog directly, you can do so by clicking on the “Following Two Gents in Italy” button that is located just under the list of recent posts on the right hand side of the front page of the site.
WordPress (who hosts the site) will then send you an email that contains very simple activation instructions – basically just a confirmation of your email address. Once that’s done, you’re all set, and you should get an email notification whenever I publish a blog post, with a link through to the site.
WordPress are, like all online providers, over-zealous in their desire to recruit new adherents to the cause, so you may get another email suggesting you set up an account; obviously you don’t need to do that if you don’t want to.
Apologies if all this seems a bit obvious, but a few people have pointed out to me that it is not immediately obvious how you initiate this process, so I thought it worth publishing a quick note to explain how it works.
Of course, if you’re happy to keep relying on Facebook, that’s fine too.
